Puzzles are my thing

Cameron has been working on mastering puzzles for a few months now. She can now do multiple puzzles all by herself. She has puzzles with big wooden handles and puzzles with smaller pieces. She was not the first kid in the class to master the puzzle, that was David, but she was a definite second. Of course she is really good at taking puzzles away from the other kids and that gives her lots more puzzle practice time.

She gets really excited when she finishes a puzzle and will make sure that everyone gives her a round of applause when a puzzle is complete. She likes lots of recognition. Although you can't really read her shirt, it says "Little Genius" and we couldn't agree more...

Daddy's Girl!

So people think Cameron is just like mommy, but they are wrong. Sure she looks like mommy and is extremely assertive, but she is just like daddy. She is very easy going and takes everything in stride. But the similiarity is most obvious when she spots an airplane.

Daddy loves airplanes, spotting them, flying in them, modeling them, studying them, even reading about them (or at least looking at the pictures)....

Cameron loves airplanes, spotting them, flying in them, watching them takeoff and land(which she does with daddy often), even reading about them (or at least looking at the pictures)....

During a NASA open house, she got to go and visit the SOFIA project's 747 and another observation plane which she was allowed to go into the cockpit. She immediately climbed into the Captain's chair, but quickly realized she couldn't press the buttons from the seat. She pressed all the buttons which caused some alarms to go off which was very exciting. Mommy had to take her out of the cockpit which caused her to get upset, until she visited the cargo hold. She was in heaven (oh, and daddy was too).

Its a boy!!!!

So we had our diagnostic ultrasound today, and daddy was convinced it was going to be a girl. Surprise!!! Cameron is going to have a brother and PJ is going to have a boy baby to hang out with.

The baby was very active and gave us quite a show. He showed us all his tricks. He actively sucked his thumb which Jeff kinda liked (Cameron never quite got the hang of it). He showed us each of his parts so we have already counted is fingers and toes.

Of course I asked the tech if she was absolutely sure. She laughed and said we didn't have a shy baby and while some babies are hard to tell, she was pretty sure she could give us a 100% guarantee. He looked healthy, spine was good and he already weighed 11oz (and mommy looks it!).

Its a party weekend!!!

Cameron was invited to celebrate her friend Caroline's third birthday. The party was at Pump It Up Jr. This was Cameron's second party at this place and she recognized it instantly. She was much braver this time and climbed the big slide all by herself. Even though she was one of the youngest guest she acted like one of the oldest.

Cameron loves to slide and this was the tallest slide she has ever done by herself. All the parents kept commenting on how grown-up she was, especially her table manners. She sat by herself at the party table and enjoyed her pizza and fruit. She was especially excited when the cake was cut.
The second part of the weekend was spent visiting Grandma Cindy for her birthday. Cameron went to Carmel with daddy and Uncle Greg. Mom could not go because she was oncall for work.

Cameron was very happy to see the flowers she bought for Grandma had arrived safely. Grandma, Daddy and Uncle Greg enjoyed a nice visit, dinner, and trip to the toy store. Cameron was lucky enough to get two wooden boats that she now plays with in the tub.

There are things you cannot have too much of....

Although Cameron is not quite two, she has some definite opinions on things. The first is that you cannot have too many babies. She now has 4. I told her that she had enough and she gave me the funniest look I've ever seen. I thought maybe she didn't understand me, but along with the look came, "No Mommy! Baby!" and well I got the message.

She also firmly believes that you cannot have too much art. We have boxes and boxes of her masterpieces and she insists on making more. The rainy season seems to be an inspiration to her. Good thing we love art too!

And now Cameron has another love......Shoes! She will collect all her shoes and ask us to put them all on. She saves her favorite shoes for last. Her current favorite pair are her pink crocs. We have to hide them before we ask her to get her shoes because she doesn't understand its too cikd for them.

I think her happiest shoe moment was when daddy showed her that her shoes didn't have to match (thanks daddy!). She proudly walked around the house in her patent leather bow/croc shoes.

New Year's Tea Party...

Cameron brought in the New Year by having a tea party with a few of her closest friends. She has had the tea set for a long time but this is the first time we let her play with it. She invited Elmo and Mr Bunny for some tea and treats.

We spread out the blanket and everyone took a spot. Cameron served Elmo first and stirred in some milk and sugar. She knew exactly what to do with the little plates and cups. She even had pretend cake and cookies and helped Elmo and Mr Bunny enjoy some of each.

She was very considerate to her guests. Mr Bunny couldn't use his paws so she stirred his tea and helped him drink it slowly. It was a very nice party and the tea helped everyone sleep better.

The Day After....

What is there to do the day after Christmas. Well.....Play!!!!! Cameron played with all of her toys. She strolled the babies around the house....Back & Forth, Back & Forth, Back & Forth...

She played with Cookie monster, making him giggle, and roll over, again & again. Then gave him lots of kisses.

She taught her babies how to drink from a cup. She thought they were too old for the bottle so she shared her milk with them. Of course when they spilled the milk, she took a baby wipe and cleaned them all up.

She also cooked us dinner. We had fried cheerios and she baked a chicken for us. Of course the way you tell if a chicken is done is you squeeze it, but this one kept saying "Cock-a-doodle-doo", oh well I guess its left overs!

Merry Christmas!!

It was a good Christmas for all of us. Cameron had a great Christmas. She got a kitchen set and a baby and stroller, books, candy, and socks from Santa.
She was so busy with all the things that Santa brought it was hard for us to convince her that the wrapped presents were just as good. We literally had to pry her away to open the gifts. One of the gifts was a new baby and she immediately threw the baby from Santa out of the stroller to replace it from the one she got from Grandpa and Ma-mere.

Once she realized that opening presents were fun she really got into it. She helped Daddy open his and PJ open his. PJ and Ellie were very excited to get their gifts which included a new red ball, rawhide, chew toy, a stocking full of milk bones.

Uncle Greg and Aunt Juliet stopped by on their way out of town to drop off a gift to Cameron. She got a "Tickle me Cookie Monster" which cracked her up. She had both Cookie Monster and Elmo going at the same time. (Uh....Thanks for that!)

After all the present and while dinner finished up we took the dogs out to play with their new toys. PJ and Ellie played a little soccer and got good and tired before our guests arrived. We had the Tims and Grandma Cindy over for dinner and had lots of fun. Cameron had so much fun she forgot about taking a nap so was completely wired by the time Cookie, Chip and Mikey came to open gifts. She finally went to sleep at 11pm. Hopefully she will sleep in.

Parachutes are cool!

Cameron's class have been playing with a giant colorful parachute. Cameron helped raise it up high and then went running underneath it with her friend David. That was great fun and caused lots of giggles and screams.

Then it was time to try playing on top of the parachute. She jumped into the center and then everyone shook the parachute and she tried to climb over the big puffs and hills. It caused lots of rolling and tumbling.

She even had a good time shaking the parachute as the other kids took their turns running around the center and underneath. It was funny to watch her friends roll over and tumble as she shook the parachute.

Decorating in Carmel

We went to visit Grandma Cindy in Carmel and helped her decorate for Christmas. The Nutcrackers were all setup but Cameron helped put on the elves and decorate the tree.

Grandma Cindy showed her all the different decorations and Cameron put them on the tree. She chose every spot and Grandma Cindy didn't make any changes. Grandma Cindy got a new Christmas pyramid so she gave us the Hansel and Gretle pyramid from East Germany that Jeff grew up with. Cameron thought it was very fun.

After lunch we took a hike up the hill to the water tower behind Grandma Cindy's apartment. We found some golf balls which Cameron threw and chased up and down the hill. It was a fun day.

Surprise!!!

It was a surprise to all of us. I've been feeling really tired but no other signs that we had another baby on the way. During a visit to the doctor it was determined that we were almost done with the first trimester!!!

We told Cameron she would be getting a baby for her birthday and she was really excited. We're pretty sure she isn't exactly sure of what that means, but she does tell you that Mommy has a baby in her tummy, and she has been practicing taking care of a baby at school.

We will find out the sex of the baby mid-January and are hoping to schedule the birth for June 1, which will mean another June baby, (a week before Cameron, two weeks before Daddy) but the doctor's want to schedule it on the Monday rather than the weekend....

Thanksgiving or is it Xmas???

We went to New Orleans for Thanksgiving. We spent a lot of time at Maw,Maw's house and everyone came over on Thanksgiving and cooked all day. Mommy didn't cook at all but that was probably for the best, she was on cleanup duty.

We went downtown to see some of the Christmas decorations. I saw reindeer, and Santa Claus (Ho,Ho,Ho) and spent some time with my cousins and aunts. It was very cold out but the most exciting thing was the winter wonderland street.

It was very pretty and every hour it began to snow. Mommy said it wasn't real snow but it really looked pretty. My Aunt Yvette showed me all around and I liked her very much. We tried to catch the snow flakes but we didn't eat them like you would real snow because the snowflakes were made of soap.

I think I liked the city very much. In fact I found a thrown that seemed to suit me perfectly. I can't wait until we visit again.

Grandpa and MaMere's visit

This week I had my grandparents for a visit. We had lots of fun and took lots of walks around the neighborhood. They pushed me in my car and Mommy and Daddy were surprised that I stayed in my car for the whole walk. I just enjoyed being with them so I let them push me around.
Grandpa must have found out about how much I liked ice cream because he went to Baskin and Robbins and got me my own. It was very yummy and it might have been the best part of the visit.... Ha,Ha just kidding.

It had been a long time since I've gotten to see my Grandpa and I liked it very much.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is lots of fun. You get to paint pumpkins and make pumpkin pie. I painted 3 pumpkins and PJ painted one too, although mostly he licked the paint and tried to bite the pumpkin.

At school we had a parade where everyone wore costumes including our teachers. One of my teachers was a kitty and the other a Pirate!

I was an astronaut and my two best friends were a teddy bear and a football player. Grandpa came to school with me and met all my teachers and friends.

But after school was when the real fun started. Our house was very very scary (to others). We had spiders crawling on webs and monsters and mummies in the front of the house.

We had ghosts up the driveway and a big scary witch flying down. We had our usual crowd of trick-or-treaters!!! We had several hundred people stop by our house and take pictures and ask for candy. I only went to one house, Turtle and Tim's. There house was also very scary and brought in a big crowd too. I've decided that chocolate is a good thing.
