Gilroy Gardens is open

Gilroy Gardens is now open so we headed down. Gilroy is always a lot warmer and today was no exception. We were greeted by the giant garlic and enjoyed the unique trees which Gilroy Gardens is famous for. The grafted trees come in all kinds of shapes and sizes that will cause shock and awe.

Of course we rode the flying strawberries and the balloons but we again did not make it to the swans on the lake (the line is always too long and its in the sun).

The kids favorite ride was the cars they get to drive on their own. Its a bumpy ride for Mommy and Daddy but loads of fun for the Cameron and Riley.

We also visited the carnival games and Riley rode the firetrucks, again another favorite. This time Cameron and Riley refused to play in the water features but the train we rode multiple times. Nothing is better than the train, says Riley.

Roaring Camp

We needed an outing so we headed to Roaring Camp with Uncle Greg. One of the best benefits of Roaring camp is they allow dogs so PJ got to enjoy the train adventure with the rest of the family. We started with a picnic and then jumped on the train to head into the Redwood forest.

After hiking on the top of the mountain we came back to enjoy ice cream. Even PJ got to enjoy a treat (minus ice cream just cone). Highly recommend this for a day out with the family.

The May Pole

Today Ms Ana, the daycare music teacher, surprised the kids by bringing a May pole. It was a little chaotic to explain how to get started. The kids quickly grabbed their ribbons before the music started.

The dancing started and the kids watched as the pole became decorated by the ribbons. Cameron of course had to have a pink ribbon and she and her doll danced around the pole and decorate it in celebration of Spring.
