Trip to the Children's Museum

Today we went to the San Jose Children's Discovery Museum. We got there early so we played in the park until it was time for the museum to open. Cameron kept us all entertained by playing with Riley, pretending to be daddy (carrying the Bjorn), and talking about everything she saw (trees, squirrels, airplanes, rocks, statues, etc etc etc).

Cameron explored all the exhibits including the bubble room, the emergency vehicles (she liked the firetruck and ambulance best), Alice in Wonderland, Circle room, Art Room, Secrets, and water play.

Riley was very patient as Cameron ran around. He hung out in the Bjorn with Daddy. He liked the new environment and all the noise around the museum. He would peak out and watch what everyone was doing. It was a very crowded day so he did a lot of people watching.

It was very difficult to drag Cameron away from all the fun. She stayed busy the entire time and even though she was tired she couldn't get enough of the place. When it was time to leave she was very sad. Riley tried to cheer her up by giving her his irresistible smile. She immediately fell asleep when we started the car. It was a good day.

Mom is sick

Unfortunately Mommy has been very, very sick. So no big adventures this week. Both Riley and Cameron are doing great and keeping Daddy on his toes while he tries to take care of everything so Mommy can get better. This week we thought we would just share some of Cameron's philosophies.

"When you are feeling blue.....Embrace it!"

"Take time to learn from your friends!"

"Sometimes you just need to pedal through it..."

"Always wear your safety goggles!"

"Be cool and stay in school!!!!"
(This picture is the view from Cameron's new classroom, due to open at the end of the month or Sept.)

End of the Month...

Wow, its been an incredible month. We've had lots of bubble fun, including trying to eat the bubbles (Thanks Tim), our baby boy has increased his birth weight by more than 60%, we've rode a roller coaster over our future at the Google Daycare (since the revision to the tuition increase, both kids are going to stay t), and we've had tons of new experiences.

Cameron is really enjoying her Gym Class at The Little Gym. She is so good she is often used as the example for the "new skill". Her favorite part of the gym is swinging on the bars. She is so strong that she can do pull-ups, and is thriving on learning flips. She shows off her tumbling every chance she gets and its really fun to watch her tumble through the yard. Riley also got on the extra curricular band wagon and took his first Gymboree class. It was fun and we learned some new tummy time games, but we didn't sign up to continue because he was very fussy and probably a few weeks too young. He will be starting school soon and since we won't be able to continue after September its unlikely that we'll go back (Why are all the infant classes during the day?)

This last week of the month was also the "week of the doctor." Both kids visited Dr Lee this week. Cameron was lucky and didn't require any shots, but Riley wasn't so lucky. He was so happy and cooing in the office and then they stuck him. It was no fun at all. Here are their stats:

Cameron
Weight: 24 lbs (12%)
Height: 34 in (50%)

Riley
Weight: 13 lb 2 oz (80%)
Height: 24 in (80%)
Head: 40.5 cm (60%)
PJ also got a treat this week. His pal BJ came and spent the week with us. They had a lot of fun. We spent several evenings in the backyard where Cameron helped pick the weeks out of the garden. She only up rooted a few real plants but they were easily replanted. Check out her Garden boots... she will find any reason to put on those frog boots...
