Learning to Bake

So I've baked before, at Hannah's house and at school, but never at home. And I've never gotten to do it by myself (mostly by myself). Today was the day and it was great. Let me tell you what you need to know if you want to bake. First thing you should do, is invite some friends over. I invited Tim, well it was Thursday and Tim always has dinner with us on Thursday but I asked him to help and he did.

Its important to mix your ingredients. Mom measured everything for me, but it was up to me to put everything in the mixer. After everything was mixed. I carefully poured the batter into the cups. I was making cupcakes btw.

When you are finished scooping, it is customary to lick the spoon. This is a very important lesson, and one that I like very much.

The cupcakes then get put in the oven and you have to clean up the mess. I actually really like to do the cleanup. Mommy says I get this from Daddy.

And Finally! When the cupcakes are done. Its time to eat. These were probably the best cupcakes ever. Even Tim said so.

Easter Weekend...

Cameron enjoyed her first Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday. The neighborhood mother's group held their annual hunt and this year we participated. I was unsure if she would understand what was going on, but she was totally into it. She gathered up the eggs and put them in her basket.

When her basket was full, we sat down and she was even more excited to find that each egg contained a surprise. She got little toys and stickers, Daddy got the candy. Her best prize was a little blue bunny necklace which she insisted on wearing, even at naptime. Once she was asleep we tried to take it off but she woke up, fussed at us, then went back sleep holding onto it...

On Easter Sunday Cameron went straight for her basket. She was excited to find a Boeing airplane model, a book, and lots of yummy candy. Additionally she got lots of summer clothes and food for her kitchen set, which she insisted be opened immediately.

When she was done playing in her kitchen she got dressed, excited to wear her new pink shoes, hat, and sunglasses and we went to brunch with Tim. After we ate we headed to the park. Cameron had a great time playing and has discovered swinging before hitting the slide. It was a great family weekend.

Site seeing in Seattle...

Daddy and I did lots of fun stuff while Mommy had to work. We went to the Seattle aquarium where I saw salmon at different stages, (they had a river which staged the fish at different times in their lives...), otters, seals, and of course Nemo and Dory.

Our favorite day was visiting the Museum of Flight. There were airplanes everywhere!!! We got to visit the Concord, an old AirForce 1, an SR71, and lots and lots and lots of other planes. We were both very happy on this day.
Of course we had to visit the space needle and even went to dinner in the revolving restaurant at the top. I had a great time at the restaurant especially when mommy ordered dessert and I got to paint with chocolate and strawberry sauce. Not only was my art beautiful, it was yummy!

I saw the troll under the bridge. He wasn't scary even though he was smashing a car. This was very close to mommy's office. We visited daddy's old school and tried to visit his house but we weren't allowed on base. We did get to visit daddy's teacher. I had lots of fun at their house and played for hours while Daddy visited. I liked Seattle and would definitely visit again.

Guess where I went today???

Mommy had to go to Seattle for a business trip, so daddy and I decided we should go and keep her company. I'm so glad we did! I got to visit the Boeing plant today. I was too young for the factory tour but I got to visit the museum. There were lots of interesting airplane parts to look at. We learned all about the dreamliner the 787. Daddy says its going to be a great airplane.

I learned a new word today. "Engine". The 787 has the most efficient engine ever designed. There was a model of the engine that I watched for a very long time. I had mommy hold me up so I could see into the fan.

Besides the engines, which I liked very much, I got to visit a cockpit. I could switch all the buttons and push on the controls. It was very interesting and reaffirmed how much I like airplanes. There were movies about the different planes and models of future airplanes.

There was even a lookout on the roof where we could watch the new planes take off. We watched a new plane for Southwest leaving for its initial flight. That was a really fun day.

Have you met my boots?

These are my boots. I like to call them "My frog" and "My other frog". I love my boots and sometimes I don't want to take them off. When it rains at school we still need to go out and play so mommy bought me these boots. When I wear them I can jump in puddles and not get wet.

Of course I have to wear "My jacket" too if I want to go out in the rain. It matches my boots and I really like when I get to wear them together. Sometimes I don't even wait for it to rain. Today I found them and demanded that mommy and daddy let me wear them to take PJ on a walk. I think PJ really likes my outfit too.

First Hike of the Season

Uncle Nicho was in town and so we decided to take a hike. Its the first hike of the season. Daddy, Nicho, and I went to Russian Ridge. Daddy thought I would like to take a ride in the backpack carrier but I thought this year, I'm ready to do it on my own. I followed Nicho right up the hill.

The thing about walking on your own, is you can stop and take a closer look at all of the things around you, and as much as you like. I stopped at each of the rocks I saw (!!!) and took a close look at all the sand and dirt that was around. Daddy and Nicho were very patient.

When you take things slow, you get to the see all the best things. During this hike we saw a large fox. At least I think it was a fox, that is what daddy said and of course I believe him. It was a great view from the top. The clouds were covering the ocean but we could see the city and we looked down into the valley.

When we got to the top, the sun was beginning to set and I actually wanted to take my shoes off. I was pretty tired so Daddy carried me back to the car and I quickly fell asleep. I'm looking forward to more hikes with daddy this spring/summer.
