Sand and Pumpkins, there is nothing better than that.

After Cameron spent a whole day with baby sitters (Grandma Cindy, and Kristen) while Mommy and Daddy went to a wedding on Saturday, Sunday was dedicated to family time. The whole family including PJ headed south. We went to Carmel to visit Grandma Cindy and enjoy the Carmel sand castle contest.

The theme this year was Harry Potter and there were some good entries including Hogwarts Express, but our favorite was the doggy castle which one of the dogs on the beach also enjoyed. It was very cute.

Cameron was so excited to see so much sand. Although the teachers report that Cameron spends about 90% of her outside time in the sandbox, she always has time on the weekend for more sand time. Grandma Cindy brought Cameron some sand toys.

After the beach, we decided to go Earthbound Farms in Carmel Valley. Cameron shopped for her first pumpkin and also picked out a pumpkin for PJ. She enjoyed running through the gardens, explored a tee-pee with some other kids, and went through the corn maize and rock garden. It was lots of fun. You can see more pictures of the visit here.

Weekend Work

After a hard week of school, Cameron spent her weekend creating some art pieces. Although she liked painting herself the most she did actually get some of the paint on the paper.

In hopes of lightening up her colors I gave her some white paint. She immediately painted her black leg white and mixed it until it was a very dark grey.

While she was happy with her artwork, she was even happier with her cleanup. Cameron has discovered that the kitchen sink is a great play spot. Even after we get her clean, it takes almost an hour to get her out of the sink.

After all that painting, it was time to clean the garage with Daddy. Cameron found lots of stuff to play with including Mommy's climbing helmet. She also found her infant car seat which she immediately jumped in and wouldn't get out. It was very funny how she immediately recognized it. She didn't like when we told her she wasn't a baby. Oh, she can say "NO!" now.

Golden times 2!!!

You know what is better than one Golden? Yep, its two Goldens! We did some dog sitting this week for our neighbor. The new golden's name is BJ if you can believe it. He is much older than PJ, but it was so fun to see them play together. BJ reminded PJ of how fun tennis balls were. PJ had not been too interested in them, but we he saw how much BJ enjoyed them, he insisted that he get his own (and sometime's BJ's too).

There was lots of playing and ball chasing. Cameron (and mommy) enjoyed having two Goldens around. Daddy did not think we should get another dog so we just had to enjoy this week we've had with BJ. PJ was so sad when BJ was gone and now stops in front of BJs house during every walk hoping that we will stop for a visit.

Cameron also went to her first birthday party this weekend. She really enjoyed the chocolate cake that River had for his #1 birthday. River is a neighbor and he will be in the same class as Cameron.

Sausalito Art & Wine Festival

Today we got to do one of my favorite things, look and appreciate art. After having a huge breakfast at Hobees with neighbors Tim, we went to the Sausalito Art & Wine festival. It was great. There were lots of good artists and it was not cold. The only problem was.... it was not cold, in fact it was very, very, very hot.

Even though it was hot, we all enjoyed the art. Mommy found a picture she really liked and bought it. It was funny because it was the first picture she walked up to, and she swore she would not buy the first thing she saw, but afterwards she went back to get it. It was so big it barely fit in the car with all of us. Tim & Tim also found some pieces they liked. The got a few sculpture items. I also found a sculpture item I liked, but it was even bigger than mommy's so I decided to wait on it. Can you say 'Turtle'? I can!
