Another Party

Today we went to Cookie and Chip's engagement/housewarming party. Cameron got to play with all the kids of different ages. Its interesting how Cameron seems to fit in with all the different age groups. With the big kids she watches everything they do and you can tell she is just absorbing. With little kids she seems to try and be a good example by showing off her skills.

After the party Cameron just hung out with PJ for the day. PJ isn't always excited about a day with Cameron because he has to be on his best behavior. Today we decided to spend some time in the backyard.

Cameron played with her car. She is really getting the hang of getting on and off. She hasn't quite mastered pushing the car forward while riding it, but she can go backwards.

PJ enjoyed rolling around in the grass and watching what Cameron was doing. I think sometimes he wonders what is so great about pushing a red car back and forth banging into different things. He did find a long lost bone in the yard so he was very happy.

Baby Shower

It was a great party!!! Sonya and David had their baby shower this weekend and we joined our neighbors Tim & Tim along with Sonya and David's friends to celebrate the upcoming baby. Cameron enjoyed the Singaporean dishes and really liked the ducky decorations and flowers. She was suspicious of the cupcakes but we figure there is plenty of time for her to discover how yummy cupcakes are.

Cameron did a great impression of Sonya. There is just over a month before the new baby girl arrives. We asked Cameron what she thought about a new baby girl to play with.....

and she liked the idea....

Happy Father's Day

Mommy woke up really early and left to go to a race. She recently joined a running club, Red Power Divas and today was the first race. If anyone knows mommy she is not really a runner, but today she completed a 5K. She had only been running for a few weeks so this is a big accomplishment. Daddy and I went and showed her our support as she crossed the finish line. I even wore my red. But it wasn't just about mommy, my shirt said "I love Daddy!"

After the race we went out to lunch with Daddy to celebrate all the things he does for Mommy and me. Of course it was his favorite, Italian!!! I even got my own plate with chicken and broccolli (Broccolli is not good!!!). We had a good time and even colored the table.

Daddy wanted a easy going weekend so we just spent some family time together. We on a walk together and I got to enjoy my new car and even tried walking PJ for the first time (see pic, that is me with the leash!!!!)

Birthday on the Lake

For Cameron's B-day we drove up to Lake Tahoe. Our good friends Joe & Debbie let us use their house in Truckee for the weekend. Although Cameron hated the long car ride and PJ was also complaining the whole way, we finally made it and both were happy to be out of the car and running around.

We drove to the lake and had ice cream by the Truckee river dam and walked around the park and along the lake. We found a really good beach to hang out at. We couldn't believe there weren't any people. Cameron enjoyed eating apples and PJ played in the lake. PJ was fetching anything that he could find in the lake and he ran after anything we threw in, including the skipping rocks...

After that we headed over to the Nevada side of the lake and found hidden beach. This was a great site but it was pretty windy. On Sunday we headed back to the lake and hiked around the Tallac historic site. Cameron got to spend some time playing in the sand and PJ did more swimming. In addition to maw, maw, we also enjoyed spending time with Uncle Frank, Tia Diane, and Uncle Nicho. Jeff, Frank, Nicho, and Diane rented a boat while Cameron, my mom, and PJ hung out in town. We were all very tired so it was good to take a nap while they enjoyed Emerald Bay by boat.
We have some excellent videos of Nicho jumping in the cold water, and Jeff is still threatening to put them on YouTube. The trip was lots of fun and the best part was the cake. Cameron was lucky enough to get two cakes, one from the uncles and one from maw,maw who made daddy's favorite, banana. Although it was a great trip Cameron was anxious to get back home, I think she knew that is where most of the presents were....

WooHoo! Maw,Maw is here...

My maw,maw flew to all the way from New Orleans to spend my first b-day with me. I haven't seen her since Thanksgiving although I talk to her on the phone almost every week. Even though she was tired, we went shopping and she cooked for us. Daddy is right, she makes the best spaghetti ever.
During one of our shopping trips she bought me this really cute outfit. The skirt and hat have apples on it and the shirt is very favorite shade of pink. Everyone thinks I'm super cute when I wear it. I can't quite say her name, but she tried very hard to teach it to me. My mommy was less thrilled with that, since I won't really say mama when she asks.

I really loved playing with my maw,maw and showing her all of my toys. I also showed her how I climb the stairs and run around the house. I think maw,maw should stay forever!

She's not a baby anymore....

Cameron is getting more and more grown up. She is independent and very self-confident. She is very creative and likes to play pretend games. Her teachers reported she wass extremely active this week, and she was all over the place. She pretended she was riding a horse while playing on the play structures.

And she was facinated by the contact paper on the wall. Since she is a great walker now, she can stand up and reach the sticky wall. Not only did she stick to the paper, but the toys did too. She even took the frog and tried to add to the wall decorations herself.

Everyday is a new discovery and milestone but I don't really notice how grown up she actually is, then I take a picture like this. She is growing up so fast. I'm happy that she will turn 1 in a few days, but I'm sad that this year went by so quickly.
