Class Project: Auto Shop

Did you know that this weekend is the Indianapolis 500 race? I did. We had a great week at school getting our own cars ready for the race. First we each were assigned our own car. Since we're babies the care was not real, it was made of wood.

The wheels were my favorite part. I drove it through the paint and when it was drive and raced it around the room. I was very excited to bring it home and race it around the house too. I even raced it around PJs crate, but he didn't like that too much. I keep my car with the rest of my toys so I can play with it anytime.

Oh, and did I mention my car was blue?

Cameron Hosts A Party...

So Cameron's head teacher, Ms Shelby has made the difficult decision to move to Colorado with her fiance. She will be missed by us all. Ms Shelby was the first teacher Jeff and I met and immediately felt comfortable with her and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to daycare. The room was always fun and happy.

Ms Shelby was the first to introduce Cameron to painting and as Cameron's talent blossomed it was Ms Shelby who kept the projects interesting. Just this month they painted with balls. Of course it was also Ms Shelby who introduced Cameron to jello..... I don't mean as a snack.... Just this month Cameron got to swim in jello. So thanks to Ms Shelby, Cameron has explored swimming in bubbles, spaghetti, and who knows what else.....

So in return for all that she has done for our family Cameron hosted a bridal shower/going away party for her favorite head teacher along with the other teachers and babies from our classroom. It was great fun especially when we had a race to see who could feed the teacher cake the fastest.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Today was my second Mother's Day and it keeps getting better. Daddy, Cameron, and PJ had a big day planned for me. I was told to dress warm and be ready early. They were all excited when I finally made it to the car. All I was told when asking where we were going was, "you'll see."

We headed south on 101. We past Monterey, Carmel, and then I knew where we were headed. We had lunch together at Ventana Inn on the balcony where Jeff and I were married. It was a beautiful day and Cameron was very excited. She knew it was a special place. After we ordered Daddy and Cameron presented me with my gifts. Cameron had painted me a wooden flower pot with a personalized kiss in the window. The flower pot was attached to a blue box with white ribbon. Everyone having lunch around us were all very interested in watching me open my gift.

It was a very special surprise to receive a strand of pearls. I've wanted them a long time. Cameron was so excited she coould hardly contain herself. She ate her lunch but she immediately wanted to play with Mommy's new necklace. PJ was less interested since he was anxious about getting to the beach which we did right after lunch.

After we got home I think I figured out why she was so excited about the pearls..... Cameron is eyeing them for herself. At least it seemed that way when she got to wear them for the first time. Now when I take them out, she immediately wants me to give them to her. I guess its only fair since I've had my eye on my mother's pearls too.

Pinnacles National Monument

This weekend we went to Pinnacles National Monument. This was my first trip to a national park/monument so I got my first stamp in my NP passport. Mommy and Daddy's passports have lots of stamps from other parks, but this was also Daddy's first trip to Pinnacles. We went to the east side entrance and were told that we might see some condors, but no luck.

Mommy met her friend Joe who was climbing with some friends so she got to do a climb with them. I hung out at the top of climb keeping an eye on the chips. I also watched mommy's gear and tried on her shoes, but they don't quite fit yet. It was interesting to meet another baby on the trail whose mommy was also climbing. That baby was a little to young to chat with, but I enjoyed my green beans in her company.

After the climb we hiked to the reservoir. There were lots of people hanging out near the water. The water is dammed and there is a staircase that drops down below the dam that leads into some caves.

This was my first cave experience. I liked that they were cool and out of the sun. But it was a little weird when Daddy had to crawl through some of the spaces. Even still I did not get scared, I know my Daddy will always keep me safe.

I really enjoyed my day hiking. I got lots of attention on the trail and everyone told me how cool I looked. I think it might have been the shades....
